The Agored Cymru Exploring Worldviews suite of qualifications supports learners to increase their skills, knowledge and experiences in order to improve their understanding of religious and non-religious worldviews. This ensures that young people become equipped and confident individuals who can live, empathetically and successfully, in a fast changing and diverse society, as responsible and informed citizens.
The qualification supports both current and new, key educational policy areas of the Welsh Government relating to Religious Education (RE) and Religion, Values and Ethics (RVE). This includes the National Exemplar Framework for Religious Education 3 to 19-year-olds in Wales and the statutory guidance, which makes up the Curriculum for Wales Framework.
The qualification meets the three core skills set out in the exemplar framework, and it provides opportunities for exploring the concepts for RVE through the statements of what matters in the Humanities area of learning and experience in the Curriculum for Wales.
