Standardisation – General (All Levels)

It is a mandatory requirement that an appropriate representative from a centre attends an Agored Cymru standardisation event every 2 years

Standardisation events are aimed at

  • Quality Managers
  • Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) staff
  • Staff with key responsibilities within centre quality assurance policy and practice.

The event focuses on the best practice of quality assurance processes and aims to promote consistency in the way that Agored Cymru qualifications are assessed and internally quality assured.

Attendees must be active, qualified and experienced IQA’s or have attended Agored Cymru‘s ‘Internal Quality Assurance’ course. They will also need to be able to share information and implement good practice within their own organisation.

Pre-course task: Prior to the event, attendees should reflect on your own centre IQA strategy and identify the key points within this strategy. Reflect on your organisational expectations regarding the implementation of internal, centre based standardisation. Attendees will need to bring their current centre IQA strategy with them and be prepared to discuss this within the session.

Attendees will be required to access and print (or download onto your personal device) key documentation from the Agored Cymru website in preparation for the event. Documents may include:

  • Learner assessment samples
  • IQA template
  • Standardisation feedback form

The focus for standardisation events is not around assessment practice but specifically targets IQA practice
