Karen Balmer

Karen Balmer joined the Board in 2014 as an elected member. Karen is also a member of the Finance and General Purposes Committee.

Karen, a qualified accountant, has over 25 years’ experience of financial management, providing both operational and strategic financial leadership within the public, private and not-for-profit sectors.

In 2011, Karen was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Groundwork North Wales, an environmental charity that works with partners to tackle the social, economic and environmental issues faced by local communities.

Karen’s experience of working in this environment and, in particular, in the field of skills and employability, provides her with the knowledge and understanding to support the successful delivery of strategic priorities.
