Cerys Furlong
Cerys Furlong joined the Board in 2013 as an appointed member. She is also a member of the Quality, Standards and Regulation Committee.
Cerys was the former Programme Director at NIACE (National Institute of Adult Continuing Education) Cymru. She was responsible for all aspects of research, development and advocacy across the post-16 sector in Wales.
She then took up the post of Assistant Director (External Strategy) for the Open University Wales.
Through these roles, Cerys has developed extensive experience of widening participation, employer and stakeholder engagement and collaboration with external partnerships across Wales. Cerys has now been appointed Director of NIACE Cymru.
Cerys is also a former Cardiff Councillor and Trustee of the Bevan Foundation, an independent think tank working for social justice in Wales.
