Corinne Fry

Corinne Fry is the Senior Officer for Health and Workforce Development at Neath Port Talbot Local Authority [NPTLA] within the Education, Leisure and Lifelong Learning Directorate. Her portfolio of work includes the management of staff and leading on and managing health initiatives across the County. This includes the management of the Relationship Advice Drop in Service [RADS] for young people delivered throughout NPT.

She is currently Chair of both the Children and Young People’s Sex and Relationship Education [SRE] Advisory Group and Violence Against Women and Domestic Abuse and Sexual Abuse Group on behalf of NPTLA.  Prior to this she was the Sexual Health Service Improvements Manager based at the National Public Health Service in NPT.

She has a wealth of experience working with young people in both formal and informal education and has conducted a number of research projects on SRE some of which have resulted in international research study visits with a cohort of young people and health and education professionals. 

Corinne is a member of the Welsh Government SRE and PSE Expert Panel Groups and the Public Health Wales Sexual Health Review Group. She has developed a County Wide Strategic Approach to Sex and Relationship Education with local partners in NPT which has resulted in the development of a teaching guide and resource pack for local primary and comprehensive schools. Subsequently, this has resulted in her developing an accredited training programme for all relevant practitioners, including teachers, nurses and youth workers.  Her doctoral thesis, which is now underway, focuses on young people’s needs in relation to SRE and further contribute to her research within this context.
