Karen Workman

Karen has many years experience teaching in Further and Higher Education, specialising in Essential Skills, Family Learning and teacher training. She has delivered seminars at national and international conferences, sharing expertise in Adult Numeracy and Digital Literacy.

Most recently Karen has worked as a consultant on behalf of Welsh Government to design, refine and introduce Digital Literacy Design Principles across the Post-16 sector in Wales. She has worked on the Welsh Government approved initial and diagnostic tool, delivered the first Certificate for Essential Skills Practitioners (Digital Literacy) and has advised Awarding Bodies on summative assessment material. Karen has also worked alongside Colegau Cymru and the National Training Federation for Wales (NTfW) to promote awareness relating to qualifications changes and the Prevent - Counter Terrorism Act and the duties facing post-16 providers.

Karen believes strongly in leading by example, ensuring that all her delivery uses collaborative, active, challenge-based teaching and learning methods.
