Training and Events

This is a 2.5 hour and a half hour interactive session designed as an introduction to the principles and practices of internal quality assurance.  You are required to complete a short pre-course activity which will help you prepare for the session.

At the end of this course, attendants will:

• understand the basic principles of internal quality assurance;
• understand the role of the internal quality assurer;
• learn how to record outcomes of internal quality assurance; and
• have the skills to effectively internally quality assure Agored Cymru units and qualifications. (please refer to the relevant qualification guide to check specific IQA requirements)

Please note: to be eligible to attend this course you must have either:

1. experience of assessment; or,
2. attended the (Agored Cymru) Introduction to Assessment course.

This is a non-accredited course but you will receive a certificate of attendance.

This course is suitable for any recognised Agored Cymru Centre staff who are new to Internal Quality Assurance of Agored Cymru units/qualifications or as a refresher for Agored  Cymru IQA's who have not carried out IQA activities recently.

Newly approved centres are entitled to a total of 4 free places on either the Introduction to Assessment or Introduction to IQA sessions (or a combination of both), which must be used within the first 12 months.
