Agored Cymru has partnered with Esports Wales to create the Agored Cymru Award in Esports Leadership. This qualification helps learners gain skills in organising tournaments, managing communities, and understanding esports governance. It also introduces them to career opportunities in the esports industry.

Judith Archer, Head of Product Development at Agored Cymru, said:
"Agored Cymru are really pleased to have been able to work with Esports Wales on this qualification development, linking digital skills and business with recreation. This is another example of Agored Cymru's responsiveness to qualification needs."

John Jackson, CEO of Esports Wales, explained the course’s aim:
"The hope is to create an industry standard within Wales. It will help with CPD, tournaments, and events. By working together, we can build something effective."

Jackson added:
"This is the start of creating a sustainable esports ecosystem in Wales. It will lead to further qualifications for coaches and tournament organisers."

The qualification is part of a broader effort to support the growth of esports in Wales and enhance opportunities for young talent across schools, colleges, universities and youth centres. The course will help develop important transferable skills like communication, teamwork, and strategic thinking, which are vital both within and beyond the gaming sector.
