The Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment will take place over 4 half day sessions. The first session will commence on the 16th and continue on the 17th, 23rd and 24th June. All sessions will start at 10am and finish at 1pm.

Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment is intended for those who need an understanding of the principles and practices of assessment without any requirement to practice as assessors. This is a knowledge-only award for those who are starting their journey as an assessor, or those who need to know about assessment practice but are not currently practising.

To achieve this unit, learners must complete the unit Understanding the principles and practices of assessment (3 credits) GB83CY019.

The course will be delivered on-line and over 4 half days. It is expected that you carry out an element of self-study to complete a written assignment. You will be formally assessed and receive feedback regarding your progress. N.B All sessions must be attended.

There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification, however, you must be 18 years of age or over to undertake the qualification. It is recommended that you should have attended the Agored Cymru Introduction to Assessment training.

Progression opportunity

(Please note: Booking onto this event confirms you have booked onto the knowledge-based unit Understanding the principles and practices of assessment GB83CY019 ONLY. You then have the option to progress onto the unit below if you wish to do so, at an additional cost and entry requirements.)

For those assessing in a classroom, training room or workshop setting, we provide an opportunity for achievement of the Agored Cymru Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement. This Award is made up of two mandatory units - the knowledge-based unit above (GB83CY019) - and competency-based unit (GB83CY021) Assess Vocational Skills, Knowledge and Understanding. (Please note, access to learners is required for unit GB83CY021.)

For this award, you will be required to attend a one-hour introductory session with your assessor prior to commencing competency-based unit GB83CY021. It is anticipated that this will take place after session 4 of the knowledge base unit.

Please notify events@agored.cymru at the time of booking if you wish to complete the two units for this award.
