The Access to Higher Education (AHE) Health Forum provides a regular opportunity for Welsh Access to HE providers, the All Wales Admission group and Agored Cymru to engage in a dialogue regarding progression of AHE learners to higher education programmes in nursing and related areas.
The admission group includes the admissions leads from all universities in Wales that receive AHE learners in these areas and who have a significant interest in the how effectively Agored Cymru AHE Diplomas prepare learners for university study. Under the current circumstances, it is essential that AHE centres can assure partner universities that learners awarded the Diploma in 2021 are as prepared for a successful transition to higher education (HE) as they would be in previous years. The principles of the ERF as published by QAA along with Agored Cymru’s approach to adaptation have been shared with the admissions group and the forum will provide a basis for discussion regarding the expectations of HE providers.
The Forum will also offer an opportunity to the universities to share any updates in regards to admissions and progression opportunities and for FE centres to share information regarding current cohorts.
