Purpose and Aim

To enable practitioners to plan film making activities for a learner or group of learners.

1. Understand how to plan a film making activity.
1.1Plan a film making activity to include at least:
  • An overview of the activity and content
  • Timeline
  • Resources required.
2. Be able to create a short film sequence.
2.1Create a short film sequence to include at least:
  • Storyboard or list
  • A range of shots
  • Editing of shots.
3. Be able to review a short film.
3.1Give negative and positive points of a short film.

Assessment Methods:

There are no prescribed assessment methods for this unit. Assessments used should be fit for purpose for the unit and learners, and generate evidence of achievement for all the assessment criteria.

Assessment Information:

LO1  The learner must relate the activity to the learning and development of the group: ie how the film making activities supports the areas of learning and development related to own work setting for example: youth work, school clubs and other community learning settings. The learner must include reference to the risks involved  when considering learner/learners safety. The learner must incorporate appropriate film terminology related to the film making process in their evidence for planning the film making activity.
 
AC1.1 The learner must include:

  • a topic/theme/brief that is relevant and engaging to the learners
  • taking into account the equality and diversity needs of the learner group.
 AC 3.1 For example:
  • sound
  • editing.
