Brenig Davies
Brenig Davies joined the Board in 2009 as an appointed member. He is also a member of the Quality, Standards and Regulation Committee.
Brenig graduated from Cardiff University with a first class Bachelor of Education degree in further education curriculum development and went on to gain a Master of Education in research of vocational education and training.
Brenig has spent many years working in education. On completing a motor vehicle apprenticeship, he worked as a technician for Rolls Royce Motor Car Division and taught motor vehicle studies at Merthyr Tydfil College.
Following a secondment, Brenig tutored at Cardiff University. He then spent a period at the Further Education Curriculum Review and Development before returning to Cardiff University to tutor on their training courses for further education teachers and Youth Opportunities Programme supervisors.
This led to his appointment as Vice-Principal at Pontypridd College. While at the merged college of Coleg Morgannwg, he was extensively involved in European curriculum development projects.
Since retiring as Vice-Principal, Brenig is principally involved in voluntary work. He is a governor of an FE College, a secondary school and a primary school. He also continues to be an Assessor for the Queen's Award for Further and Higher Education, and the Association of Colleges Beacon Awards.
For over ten years, Brenig contributed to College Wales Master's programme and was Chairperson for the Rhondda Cynon Taff CCET.
