The unit has been reviewed by Play Wales, an independent charity funded by the Welsh Government, which works to raise awareness of children and young people’s need and right to play and to promote good practice. The unit has been updated in line with good practice guidance. The safety aspect of the unit is now expressed in relation to risk benefit assessment and reducing risk. Knowledge of stimulating play has been strengthened within the unit. This combines the understanding of effective play, improvements to a play space and how children can use play spaces to their maximum effect.
